报告人简介：
Kai Chen is an associate professor with CSE Department at HongKong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Director of System andNetworking (SING) Lab and HKUST-WeChat Joint Lab for Artificial IntelligenceTechnology. Prior to that, he received his BS/MS (’04/’07) from USTC and PhD(’12) from Northwestern University, all in Computer Science. His areas ofinterest include datacenter networking, cloud computing, and networkinfrastructures for big-data and AI systems. His research work has been publishedin top venues such as SIGCOMM and NSDI in recent years, and he is now activelyworking with the industry to translate his research into practice.

网络技术和机器学习相互促进。本报告讲探讨网络技术和机器学习之间的相互关系，包括以下两个角度：1）如何利用机器学习方法来优化网络性能；2）如何通过网络优化来加速大规模分布式机器学习系统。
